Wayne has accompanied a shipment of horses by air, so he can speak from personal experience on the system management in place to ensure the comfortable and safe journey of the horses to their new homes. And with the support of companies such as International Racehorse Transport (IRT) and Queensland Interstate Horse Transport, the whole process is hassle free to the buyer. Note:  - rb means Retained for Breeding, - rrs means Retained for Racing Stock.

Quarantine

WW Skewbald Racing Stables is an AQIS approved quarantine facility.

Australia has been officially recognised as being free from many major equine diseases, such as African Horse Sickness and Glanders.

Appropriate blood testing for disease and vaccinations are administered while the horses are in their 30 day quarantine period. An AQIS veterinarian will correctly identify each horse prior to export and also obtain blood samples to determine equine health and whether any disease is present.

Colts (older than 190 days) and stallions are screened for the presence of equine viral arteritis (EVE). The quarantine process encompasses many factors, but it ensures you receive a healthy horse.
