The mares gathered by Wayne Waltisbuhl for his breeding program have all met his strict selection standards. A criterion based on breeding, performance, progeny, conformation and an insightful view in general, all form the basis for selection.

Wayne’s Skewbald Racing Stables have collected some of Australasia’s best broodmare sire lines available; Fake Left, Vanston Hanover, Holmes Hanover and Land Grant are some of the sires that have formed the basis for his breeding regime.

Some of the broodmares have enjoyed a successful racing career before their most important task – motherhood! And though unraced, others have left well performed progeny, while others can boast coveted family lines, including Il Vicolo, The Unicorn, and from one of New Zealand’s best broodmare lines, the Black Watch NZ family. Also the well credentialed broodmare sire’s line in Soky’s Atom NZ.

All mares are classic big roomy broodmare types, selected for sound conformation, height and manners! All desirable traits everyone looks for in establishing a successful breeding program.
