World’s 2nd Fastest Skewbald Mare

Black Ice is a piebald mare who has been exported to the UK after proving herself as the 2nd fastest skewbald mare in the world during the late 1990’s, in a time trial at Albion Park.

With blistering speed, Black Ice was individually clocked one night out of the mobile barrier to run her first quarter in 26.5. Although she had enormous amount of speed, stamina was not her strongest suit. Trainer Wayne Waltisbuhl believes being bred for speed as well as stamina, from the same lines as the great Rorschach, the mare suffered from a common complaint with mares, tying up, which affected her stamina. But as a broodmare Black Ice should prove to be a valuable asset.
